In a double-whammy announcement from Nintendo earlier this morning, we learned that May 15th will be quite eventful for the Mario maker.¬† The Wii will be cut to 149.99 (down from 169.99) and will mark the first time in the console’s history that Wii sports will NOT be included with the console, and the first time Wii Sports will be availible as a stand alone game.¬† This brings us to the second part of today’s announcement: Nintendo Selects.¬† The way we see it, it seems like a re-imagining of the Player’s Choice program from years past.
The four must-own games in this collection are The Legend of Zelda‚Ñ¢: Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing‚Ñ¢: City Folk, Mario‚Ñ¢ Super Sluggers and Wii Sports, which is available for the first time as a separate software purchase. Parents and video game fans can now easily expand their library of fun, family-friendly Wii games.
The Wii Wheel will see a price reduction as well–along with a color option as well.¬† The Wii Wheel will retail for 9.99 and will be availible in white or black.
