On Thursday October 27th, 2009 the game League of Legends, by Riot Games was launched with just 50 developers and a dream. Today League of Legends is 2 years old, and no one could have guessed that it would become the phenomenon that it is today. A phenomenon that has approximately 15 million players; and more joining everyday. Riot Games has not diminished in content production for the game either. To this day new content is added to keep the game exciting and fresh. With this 2 year anniversary Riot Games have officially released the brand new legendary skin Surprise Party Fiddlesticks, which was an idea pulled from the community on the general forums. This skin is full of many fun sounds and of course changed visually to suit a party. A player by the name of GreenEyedMonster had the brilliant idea for this skin, and the entire community loved it and contributed to it. So much that Riot took notice and brought this to life for the 2 year anniversary. Unlike most legendary skins (which are sold for $20) this one only costs $10 and is completely worth it. For how long it will be $10 is unknown. Happy Birthday League of Legends!
Last weekend I attended New York Comic Con and New York Anime Fest as a member of the press. It was a weekend full of video games, costumes, anime, and big name celebrities. As I walked the floor of the showroom one thing caught my eye right away. Standing right next to the Avengers booth was the front half of a Helicopter. I immediately investigated this curious site and discovered it was the booth for the new “Prototype 2″ game. To be honest I was not a fan of the first game, due to my poor little 20 inch standard def TV the red text they seemed to love using always bled making it impossible for me to read, this prevented me for understanding how the game worked which lead to me trading it in.
Despite this fact I decided to go over and see what was the deal with this new game I had no clue was in development. After talking to one of the reps at the booth I started to gain interest with this line, “What other game can you grab a tank, run up the side of a building, throw the tank at a helicopter, jump at the now falling helicopter, rip the gun off the Helicopter, shoot it at enemies on the ground, then smash that gun into the pavement as you land?” To this I only could think of one thing, “Go On…”
