Nintendo has never officially announced what Wii U’s Achievements structure will look like – all we know is that some form of the system will exist courtesy of the image at left, part of Nintendo’s introduction to Miiverse at E3 2012, which has a small yellow box in the middle that says “Cleared in under 100 seconds.” Also at E3, Nintendo made brief mention of “accomplishments” in their fact sheet for New Super Mario Bros. U:
“Experience Mario together like never before with Miiverse. See other players’ comments and accomplishments while you play and leave your own feedback for others to see when connected to the Nintendo Network.”
Nintendo 3DS also called its StreetPass achievement system “accomplishments.”
But today we have information that seems to suggest that Wii U “Accomplishments” will indeed be the outright direct translation of other systems’ Achievements and Trophies. Hop inside to find out more.
A leaked design document for Project CARS listed “Wii U Accomplishments” alongside Xbox 360 Achievements and PlayStation Trophies. It’s the first formal mention of Accomplishments (with a capital “A”) in connection with Wii U.
While it’s possible that this is just a fabrication, it’s just the latest in a long line of suggestions that Wii U will featured “accomplishments” that players can share with their friends. As the next round of announcements draw nearer, will we find out more about the system’s social connectivity and online features?
