Nintendo Land’s Monita Has a British Accent in the UK Version

This is Monita. She’s a robotic tour guide and sort of the mascot of Nintendo Land. She… follows you wherever you go in the Nintendo Land plaza. It’s actually kind of creepy.

It’s a lot less creepy, however, in the European version, which replaces her stilted, overly mechanical vocals with cooler, softer British acting. I’ve got to say, I was a bit surprised that Nintendo went the extra mile to further “localize” the game for the UK. It’s a nice touch that, if it didn’t require massive increases to game budgets, would be nice to see for other titles.

Hop inside to hear Monita’s comparatively soothing British incarnation.
