Ni no Kuni ‘Wizard’s Edition’ Oversold Stock, Some Pre-Orders Cancelled

Ni no Kuni is a PlayStation 3 exclusive that is proving to be one of the best JRPGs of the year. A couple of PlayStation 3 owners who pre-ordered the deluxe “Wizard’s Edition” of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch from Namco Bandai’s Club Namco store have had their orders cancelled, and will not be receiving the game.

With the deluxe edition being sold out, many customers are upset with this news so close to release. According to Namco Bandai, there was a glitch in the ordering system and the game was oversold. Representatives from Digital River have written that customers who purchased their game before January 17th will receive their orders.

“If you placed your order on January 17 before the inventory was exhausted, you should have received an email notification stating that your order is being fulfilled,” wrote a Digital River customer service rep. “If you placed your order on January 17 after the inventory was exhausted, you should have received an email notification yesterday from Digital River stating that your order was canceled and that you will not be receiving Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch – Wizard’s Edition. Please be assured that your payment will be refunded.”

Namco urges customers to call Digital River’s customer service line at 952-392-2057 to learn more about the status of their order.

    Wow. This really is surprising.

  • Angered PS3 Owner

& it’s BS because I’m one of those people who got the email saying Over Sold, you get no game, but you get your money back…WTF?

Well, I guess this is great news for the game, but pretty terrible news for all the people getting turned away. Not cool.

I hope that they release a physical copy of the book that you can buy on its own. The game has a virtual copy of it, but it is kind of annoying to read. I really want a physical copy, but I didn’t want to pay for the whole Wizard’s Edition.

Why am I taking the time to comment on this though? I should be playing more Ni no Kuni! It is the most addictive game that I have ever played. Anyone who enjoys JRPGs and has a PS3 should pick the game up immediately.
