Destiny Pre-Order Page Leaves Possibility for PC, Wii U, and Vita Versions

Looks like Ben’s wish for a Wii U version of Destiny might just come to fruition. A look at the source code of the game’s official pre-order page reveals placeholder listings for possible future platforms, including the expected “Xbox 720″ and “PS4,” as well as PC, Wii U, and PS Vita.

While this doesn’t indicate that the franchise’s flagship game will hit any of these platforms – Destiny is currently only confirmed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 – it could indicate that they are under consideration for current or future development.

There’s more to this story, however.

Here’s the snippet of code that mentions Wii U, Vita, and PC:

var platformClasses = mem.platformClasses = {
pc: "platform-pc",
ps3: "platform-ps3",
ps4: "platform-ps4",
xbox: "platform-xbox",
xbox720: "platform-xbox720",
wiiu: "platform-wiiu",
psvista: "platform-psvita"

Fancy, no? These are all possible “variables” for different platforms that Bungie’s web developers can toggle on and off for various functions… but they’re not the only hint at a Wii U version of the game. Check out the circled item in this still from Bungie’s development studio:

Does that look suspiciously like a Wii U to anyone else? I think it’s very possible that Destiny could arrive on Nintendo’s big HD platform.
