If you’re hoping to pick up a copy of Fire Emblem Awakening on launch day, you may be out of luck. Retailers like GameStop and Best Buy are reporting that pre-order quotas have already been sold out, with some locations expecting to experience slight shipping delays, pushing the game’s availability back a couple of days, from Feb. 6 to Feb. 8, a couple days beyond the intended Feb. 4 release date.
It’s unusual for first-party Nintendo titles released in America to see this kind of delay and limited supply, but Awakening also sold out in Japan, so it could be that the game is only seeing conservative shipments intentionally to avoid over-shipping.
Incidentally, this may delay our review of the game. In the meantime, you can check out our hands-on preview by clicking here.
