Sony Japan’s Hiroshi Kawano has announced a price cut for both the Wi-Fi and 3G versions of the PS Vita in the Japan region. The Wi-Fi version has been dropped from 24,980 yen ($269) to 19,980 yen ($215), and the 3G model will cost the same, no longer being the more expensive version. At this point, Sony has no announcements for a price cut in other regions.
Will this be the spark that the Vita needs to gain momentum? Sony may announce a global price cut at their PlayStation 2013 event on February 20.
