Which of Today’s Nintendo Direct Announcements Was Your Favorite?

Today’s Nintendo Direct presentation focused on two things – Nintendo 3DS and the “Year of Luigi” – which meant a lot of announcements on both fronts. We got wind of a special Luigi-themed second quest DLC coming for New Super Mario Bros. U, a new Mario & Luigi RPG, a final release date for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, as well as a Miiverse community for The Legend of Zelda series. Not quite a blockbuster list, but it was definitely full of surprises!

Which of the announcements was your favorite, though? Share your thoughts in today’s poll!

Since i dont ever intend to buy a Handheld console i was disappointed personally, but this conference was supposed to focus on the 3DS so i should not have expected too much. I guess the big announcements for Wii U will be during E3?

3DS has an immense amount of amazing games. fire Emblem is the highest rated game these past 2 months, it by itself is a system seller. So many awesome games coming soon. No reason at all to not own one, especially if you like Nintendo. Also they announced huge games for the Wii-U already, but more will come at E3.

For me it’s a lot easier to find time to play handheld games since you can take them with you :)

I liked the whole Luigi theme going on. Ear of Luigi indeed.

Someday, I am going to buy a 3DS, and I will play all the games.

The most exciting announcements for me was the EU release date for Fire Emblem: Awakening. Still two months away (April 19th) but Mr. Shibata apologised, and I’m easy to forgive, so I guess it’s okay!

I think I’ll probably be picking up Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, so that takes my vote. I was worried the 3DS wouldn’t have much to offer this summer, so this should spice things up.

I picked Mario & Luigi: Dream Team since that’s the one I’m most likely to buy. However, one of my favorite things about the Nintendo Direct was the DLC they talked about. I think it’s a really smart idea to have DLC that starts out as free or on sale, but after a week goes to “normal” price. This is a really clever way to convince people who are on the fence about a game to pick it up immediately, instead of waiting for a price drop/never buying it.

I also think that New Super Luigi U is really awesome. I can imagine similar things being done with releasing a Zelda Wii U: Master Quest a year after the game is released. I have no interest in buying things like a single Mario game for $2.50 (like with NSMB2), but I would consider getting large-scale DLC.
