Nintendo of America announced today that Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will launch for Nintendo 3DS on May 24. Interestingly enough, since it was originally announced for “summer,” that means its release has actually been accelerated instead of delayed.
The game is a port-conversion of 2010’s Wii hit Donkey Kong Country Returns adapted for the 3DS’s 3D visuals, smaller screen, and additional button controls. This means you’ll no longer have to waggle to pull off key moves like the roll – it’s all just a button tap away.
Though the original game was developed by Retro Studios, the 3DS port is being handled by Monster Games, the studio responsible for Pilotwings Resort.
