According to a PlayXBLA blog entry, gamers have logged over 1 billion hours of playtime into Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. The impressive number can be traced back to when the game launched in May of last year. This number does not include the PC version of the game.
To put the milestone into perspective, 1 billion hours is the equivalent of roughly 114,000 years or 41,666,667 days.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition recently hit the 6 million units sold mark, impressive for an XBLA game that sells for $20.00. This number, along with the hours played, will likely rise faster than the original due to a disc based version of the game coming to the United States on April 30, and early June launches in Australia, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Singapore, and Taiwan.
