Official Nintendo Magazine Teasing Exclusive Info On ‘Two New Hyrule Adventures’

Zelda fans have a lot to look forward to as the year goes on. Wind Waker HD hits Wii U in October, A Link Between Worlds launches on 3DS in November, and a brand new Zelda game for Wii U will likely be announced before the end of the year. Those dates may seem like they’re ages away for the Zelda faithful, but Official Nintendo Magazine will be giving us a small taste of what’s ahead in their latest issue.

According to this month’s recently shipped issue of Official Nintendo Magazine, Zelda fans are in for quite the treat next month. The UK publication is teasing a ‘Legend of Zelda double whammy’ with ‘exclusive new info on the two new Hyrule adventures!’ Judging by the fact that Zelda Wii U has not been officially revealed by Nintendo, it’s highly likely that the two games being teased here are A Link Between Worlds and Wind Waker HD, but we can always hold out hope for news on the second truly ‘new’ game.

What new details would you like to see from A Link Between Worlds? What new features and improvements would you like to see implemented in Wind Waker HD? Sound off in the comments!

Does Wind Waker qualify to be described as a “new adventure”? I suppose they could stretch it by saying it’s a “new spin on an old adventure”. IDK.. I have never played Wind Waker so it will definitely be new to me. And I look forward to it greatly.

Speaking of “new”, and i think I’ve said this here before, but I really hope they don’t tease the new Zelda Wii U game too far in advance. I think a 6 month window prior to release is a great amount of time to hype a game. But I really dislike it when they hype a game a year before release. It gets to the “oh…either release it or shut up until you do” point to me. :/

It isn’t even in hyrule lol

      • Zak Zebra-Pants

The Great Sea is basically Hyrule, but in the sky.

        • FOOOOO

so it then takes place in Skyloft?

          • Pokewarrior2000

            Lower than that, Hyrule’s mountaintops.

          • Shigeru Miyamoto

It takes place in a flooded hyrule called the great sea….

        • Shigeru Miyamoto

Well, I know that. It takes place above hyrule, not in hyrule…

I’d rather them release tiny bits of information at a time, starting maybe a little more than a year before release. First a few pieces of concept art, then maybe a few screenshots, a few more screenshots and maybe a little detail on small story elements, then a short gameplay video and showing off controls, then a full out trailer, then the game’s release.

    my ideal Zelda game
    the settings:
this would include all 3 timelines,
    incorporated with past, present, and future; The seasons;
day and night with all weather possibilities. Such as a hurricane, a tornado, a tsunami, etc.
the realms would be the following but not limited to
    The Heavens
    Skyloft (City in the Sky)
    (new) Hyrule (dark world)
    Subrosia (the great sea)
The Dream Realm with Koholint Island
    The Spirit Realm
    The Sacred Realm
    The Under Realm

it woUld have 3 playable characters using their perspectives and true personalities which would of course be Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, coming together with their triforces to defeat beings more ancient than the Old Goddesses: Din, Nayru, and Farore- who are known as Odader and Kontonaos being order and chaos.
It would include an impressive class of NPC of well known and beloved character, such as Impa, Error, Tingle, Happy Mask Salesman, Gaepora Kaepora, Vatti, amongs others in the series.

Also would use traditional controls as default controls but the offer an option for Max Experience using the Trifecta of Wii U accessories, The Wiimote plus for sword play, the gamepad for maps, inventory, and touch screen puzzles, and the wii fit balence board for physical puzzles.

I would call my dream game, The Legend of Zelda: Trinity of Balence.

    “Two new adventures”

But they’re both pretty much remakes

    • obiwan362

      WWHD: Yes.
The sequel, A Link Between Worlds: You’re kidding, right?

      • ecylisis

        No I’m not kidding
The only new things we’ve seen have been the stupid wall-walking thing, tiny changes to the overworld and a redesigned dungeon

It’s pretty much just LttP master quest except it’s inevitably going to be 100x easier

Time for Nintendo fans to stop eating up everything Nintendo rehashes

        • obiwan362

I don’t find the wall-walking thing stupid, since I could see it being used creatively to a great end for rather entertaining puzzles. And from what I’ve seen, all the dungeons are completely redesigned, and even though the dungeons are in the same geographic place, the topography of the land has changed, which could create the need to access those dungeons in a different way than before.
I’ll be the first to admit, I could do without seeing another 2D Mario game for a while. Actually, go ahead and throw DK on there too. But the fact is that most all sequels are rehashes with minor changes. I agree that Nintendo has been trying to play it too safe as of late, and so we’ve gotten a lot of the same games from them, but I’ve not seen enough to suggest to me that ALBW is just a rehash.

        • Linkfan99

It says 2 new *adventures*. A Link Between Worlds, while it may take place in a near copy of the old overworld, still counts as a new adventure. It’s a new experience/story.

  • RockyAlboa

    Yes! My body is ready.

When is next months issue released? I have a feeling ninty will do their own nintendo direct anywy on this info after the W101 focused direct.

  • obiwan362

Yeah…if it’s referring to WW, then that is a terribly misleading tagline. Though I guess the game will technically be new, even if the story is not.
