Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus Hits PlayStation 3 This Fall

Into the Nexus

The rumors we heard earlier today have now been officially confirmed. Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus is the name of the game that was teased yesterday, and it’s heading exclusively to PlayStation 3 this fall for the very reasonable sum of $30. You can catch the game’s first trailer and a handful of details after the jump.

Into the Nexus promises to return to the ‘traditional’ Ratchet and Clank style that hasn’t been seen since 2009′s third entry in the “Future” sub-series, A Crack in Time. Here’s the game’s first trailer:

Additionally, IGN has already gone hands-on with the game, and they’ve put together an impressions video.

According to IGN, the game begins with Ratchet and Clank transporting twin villains Vendra and Neftin Prog to a location known as the Vartax Detention Center, but the captives escape, leaving the dynamic duo stranded in “the scariest sector of space they’ve ever visited.” The game’s style is said to be classic Ratchet and Clank, but a number of new weapons are available. These new toys include the Nightmare Box, the Repulsor, the Winterizer, and Vortex and Fusion Grenades. IGN also reports that alternate dimensions play a big role in Into the Nexus, and this gives Clank some new functions. Players will control Clank directly in puzzle-heavy 2D segments called “Netherverses.”
