Today on GenTEN, we pick our top 10 Pokémon. Because there can only be 10. But with over 600 Pokémon to choose from, there can’t be that much overlap between our lists… can there? Find out by clicking below, and share your picks in the comments!
For this GenTEN List the staff was torn between limiting the possible candidates to games that were just shown during the E3 presentations. After much arguing and a few punches thrown, Kevin won the argument and the list is opened up to games that were shown outside of the presentations at this year’s E3.
This year’s E3 showed off a ton of new games for Wii U, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. We did our best to pick 10 games that we’re looking forward to the most from E3.
Today’s GenTEN list is the one you’ve all been waiting for: GenGAME’s Top 10 Favorite Nintendo 64 games, also known as the “How many people won’t pick Ocarina of Time?” list. We had a pretty large staff turnout for this one, so there’s a fairly diverse set of opinions to be found!

For this installation of the GenTEN List we decided to take a trip back to the 16-bit glory days of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The Super Nintendo was a tough topic because their are so many great games to choose from that it’s hard to settle on just ten. Our staff picked out a great selection of games for this list so go ahead and check them out!
The last list we did was First Person Shooters so it isn’t much of a stretch that we’d choose to do Third Person Shooters this time around. Expect some Mass Effect, Star Wars Battlefront and more below!
With this installment of the GenTEN List we’re delving into the grittiness of First Person Shooters. The FPS genre started with primitive graphics with games like Doom, which were great at the time, but on the newest generation of consoles we’ve seen the First Person Shooter genre spawn some games with very beautiful graphics. We all know it’s not really about the graphics so expect to see a nostalgic trip back into the days of the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, and some older PC games on some of the GenGAME staff’s lists.
The Legend of Zelda has a huge catalog of characters that are very likable. Some fans latch on to a particular character throughout the story and it’s easy to pick a favorite that interacts with Link in a serious, funny, or dramatic way. The main three characters of the series are Link, Zelda and Ganon which are three very likable characters amomgst fans. Since this is a GenTEN List we have to pick our ten favorite characters and since there is a wide selection to choose from, expect the GenGAME staff to pick the obvious and even the most obscure Zelda characters.
We’ve done 2D Platformers already, so assembling the staff for a 3D Platformers list seemed like a match made it heaven. Expect this GenTEN List to feature a ton of Nintendo games. We love our 3D Mario games. Check out the GenGAME Staff’s favorite 3D Platformers and as always let your opinions be heard in our comment section.
When coming up with a new GenTEN List topic the idea of doing Platformers popped up rather quickly. The downside to such a great topic was that there were just too many games to choose from. To remedy this we made the GenGAME staff go through and pick their favorite 2D Platformers. This GenTEN List will show some retro games so expect some opinions to be heavy here. If you like the writers here, come take a look at their favorite Platformers and see if you can relate! Maybe there are a few of these games you’d put on your personal top 10 list.
Some people can rattle off their favorite games without thinking. Others need some time to gather their thoughts and really delve down into what exactly is their favorite. At GenGAME we have a lot of writers that play role playing games. This GenTEN List will hopefully show the diversity of the staff. So if you like the writers here, come take a look at their favorite RPGs and see if you can relate!
Feel free to post your own top 10 in the comment section.
Wii U’s received a lot of flak for the copious number of third-party ports heading to the system at its launch: games like the almost-a-year-old Batman: Arkham City, this past spring’s Mass Effect 3, and Ninja Gaiden 3. It’s hard for a number of people to accept these games as true multi-platform Nintendo games and not just efforts to easily cash in on Wii U at launch by offering a bunch of updates to old gems.
I don’t think the problem is that they’re ports; the problem is that they’re not the correct ports to get people excited about the system. Multi-platform games practically built the last generation for HD systems. Wii U’s going to need games that go beyond appealing to the mainstream sensibilities if it’s going to stand out from the rest. Read on for a list of ten of the most drool-inducing suggestions that come to mind.
The Halo universe has an ever expanding list of weapons that change from game to game. Sometimes weapons are wiped away from the UNSC or Covenant arsenals completely then they magically re-appear into continuity in another title. Regardless of the complete disarray in the Halo weapon canon, there are undeniably a lot of cool weapons that appear in Halo games.
Today’s GenTEN list will show my top 10 favourite weapons from the Halo games. This is purely based on opinion. Whether you agree or disagree, go ahead and leave a comment below.
